Roseville Divorce Lawyer discusses use of Facebook and other social media in a divorce case
James Gross over at the Maryland Divorce Legal Crier posted an article about the "first Facebook Divorce" here. In the article, the husband updated his status to read "Neil Brady has ended his marriage to Emma Brady." Problem was, Neil hadn't informed Emma of his decision before making his announcement public to the world.
In an infamous case from May, 2008, Edward Richardson, 41, of England stabbing Sarah Richardson to death after he became enraged that she changed her marital status from "married" to "single." He decided to visit her when she refused to answer his messages.
The common thread in both of these and perhaps countless other similar situations is a failure to communicate up front with the other spouse. As I previously have written about here, the root cause of many if not most divorces is the couple᾿s inability to be able to communicate effectively about their emotional needs.
